Why a person can’t marry more than one person?

Being a Sunday morning, I was having a relaxed breakfast and enjoying songs from 94.3 FM with my daughters. There came the song “Pahli baar mohabbat ki hai…aakhri baar mohabbat ki hai…”. Harshita felt happy that she could understand Hindi and was translating its meaning to me. Then suddenly she told “even though one can love only one person…they can marry more than one… right Maa?“.

Hmmm…didn’t know what to answer. I tried to be a bit smart and told her that marrying more than one person is illegal and they’ll go to jail if they do so. Immediately her reaction was “how come Sri Krishna married more than one person and still he didn’t go to jail?”.

Kids are growing up and sometimes it’s really hard to answer their questions. With no hesitation, I told her “Sri Krishna is GOD and he can clone himself to handle so many wives. But it is really impossible for a normal person to handle more than one .… and if they do so… there will be fights and that leads them to jail “ ;-).

After half an hour, there was a small argument between my parents and she was just staring at them. There was a BIG smile on her face when I told her “now do you understand.... why a person should not marry more than one person?”

Is there a thing called MIND CLOCK?

Today my daughter had to submit her food item (stuffed capsicum) at school party. We thought of preparing it y’day night.... but then realized that it may not be fresh....so postponed it to today morning. The recipe was compiled by the kids and they had to prepare the dish with parents help. I decided not to cheat her teachers.... so wanted Harshita to be completely involved in its preparation.

For the first time, I requested Harshita to wake up in the early morning at 6am. Usually it’s really hard to wake her up. Honestly, I want them to sleep more…. feels so bad when she requests “mamma... please let me sleep for five more minutes” and it continues for another half an hour. Ultimately she wakes up at around 7.30am. Thought she’ll repeat the same today. But to my surprise, she woke up at exactly 6am.... all by herself.... no alarm.... no external force. And here is the result of her determination....

That makes me wonder, is there a thing called MIND CLOCK.... as it reminds me of my childhood. When I wanted to get up.... I used to get up exactly at the time I wanted to be.... setting an alarm was just a backup plan. It is mind that controls body and its functions.

Realized that the KEY to set MIND CLOCK alarm is the RESPONSIBILITY. Not sure if anybody had similar experience. When we are young.... MIND CLOCK has its own advantages.... but once we grow older.... there are so many responsibilities.... and if the alarm is set most of the time... it results in INSOMNIA :-(.
